The next morning we left bright and early for Burg Eltz. We took an hour long hike through the woods from the nearest town, it was very enjoyable. This castle has never been destroyed, and it has been in the same family for 700 years. The family still lives here! A very idyllic setting for a castle, up on a hill in the middle of a valley, surrounded by trees, plains, and streams. I could easily imagine being a princess here. :)
